Costa Rica is a wildlife wonderland. My recommendation is to get to the spots in the country where you can enjoy this wildlife rather than spending time in San Jose which is a generic unattractive Central American city.
If do have to spend time there, the Teatro Nacional is worth checking out, but other than that I’d suggest leave quickly / avoid.
